Our goal is to create a unique portrait that you will display proudly in your home to share and enjoy with family and friends for many years.
It’s been an exciting road to get where we are today, and we are delighted each and every day when we walk through the doors of our studio. Our studio began in Seattle in 1938 by my grandparents and moved to Marysville in 1947. Later on, my father took over the studio and we have since been in our present building which is a beautiful historic home built in 1918. It has charm and character that is impossible to duplicate in buildings of today.
We have many unique and beautiful areas at and around the studio in which to photograph and we also enjoy creating photographs on locations. Whether it is our client’s home or another location that has special meaning to them, we like to create portraits that are as extraordinary as the individuals in them.
We just celebrated our 70th year in Marysville, CA. However we’ve decided to remain 39, which is old enough to stop chasing trends, but young enough to keep things fresh.

Vanessa Helder, PPA Photographic Craftsman, is a third-generation photographer and is following in her grandfather's and father's footsteps in carrying on the family tradition of providing expert photography, quality and service. Vanessa received her Photographic Craftsman degree from the Professional Photographers of America. This degree, one of the highest honors for professional photographers, is earned for exceptional service in the field of photography.
As a lifelong resident of the Yuba Sutter area, Vanessa's commitment to our community is reflected in the many service organizations to which she lends her time and talents. She is a member of the Professional Photographers of America, Professional Photographers of California, and the past president of the Professional Photographers of Sacramento Valley. She is an active member of the Rotary Club of Marysville, and a 4-H leader. She is also very active with Franklin 4-H, Sutter Union High School Grad Night and Sutter Union High School Trap Team. She is a wife and proud mom to two sons. And you can be certain that Vanessa's family portraits adorn the walls of her home.

One of the best parts of being established in a community like the Yuba Sutter area, is that my clients come back year after year. I’ve photographed children, watch them grow up, and now I’m photographing their children. It’s a genuine pleasure to be part of my clients family traditions.
